Chester Gould autograph note signed, dated 2 February 1979. Gould, who created the ''Dick Tracy'' comic strip and continued it for 46 years in the pages of the ''Chicago Tribune,'' handwrites the note on a card illustrated with the imaginary police detective to cleverly imitate a comic strip. The note reads: ''Hi, Jean! Thanks for your nice letter. There's nothing nicer than kind words, such as you wrote about Tracy. Best Wishes, Chester Gould / 2/15/79''. 9'' x 3.5'' card shows minor creasing, else very good.
