Chester Arthur document signed as President, dated 31 December 1881. Document appoints Henry Shreve as Postmaster at Easton in Talbot County, Maryland and bears gold United States of America seal to lower left corner. Outstanding large, bold and clear ''Chester A. Arthur'' signature at document's bottom. 17'' x 14'' document folded in eighths. Very faint seal impression over Arthur's signature from being folded, though only visible upon close inspection. Small separations at edges of folds, else near fine condition.
