ALS as president, one page both sides, 4 x 6, Executive Mansion letterhead, May 18, 1884. Letter to Dr. William Henry Dwinelle, a prominent dentist and orthodontist. In full: “I went to church this morning & thence to make a visit, so that I did not get your note until my return a short time ago. I will see you here, at once & the sooner the better, as I want to take a drive before dark.” Double matted and framed, with a copy of the signed side of letter, a portrait of Arthur, and a biographical caption, to an overall size of 17 x 13. In fine condition. Dwinelle was a prominent orthodontist who was the first to use screws in an orthodontic procedure. Arthur is very scarce in handwritten letters.
