<B>Cherokee Bible Leaf, c.1835,</B></I> framed, 7” x 9.25”. The written Cherokee language was developed by Sequoyah, a Tennessee Cherokee, in 1825. The alphabet has 86 symbols for sounds in the Cherokee Language. Shortly after it was completed in 1825, the <I>Old Testament</B></I> was printed in Cherokee.
