4 DIFFERENT CONSOLIDATED MILL CHECKS, FROM V.N., 1874-1875: All from the Bank of Calif. 1) Consolidated Mill, July 14, 1875, signed by Fair, RN-D1. 2) Consolidated Mill, Nov.30, 1874, signed by MacKay, RN-D1. 3) Consolidated Mill (lined out) now California Mill, July 5, 1875, signed by Fair, RN-D1. 4) Consolidated Mill (lined out) now California Mill, April 28, 1875, signed by MacKay, RN-D1. Notes on "Consolidated Mill"- Located near the V & T R/R yard in V.N., Cost $300,000.00 to build, it had 60 stamps. This Mill was destroyed by the Great fire of 1875 in Virginia City, but it was re-built. Notes on "California Mill"- Built in 1870s for $500,000.00 to process ore from the Consolidated Virginia & California Mines. The location is about 500 yards east of the C & C shaft in V.
