Chaucer (Geoffrey) THE WORKES .... [ca 1550] Folio. B.L. Lacking before fol.vii, 2 leaves in 'The Man of Lawes Tale' and 2 leaves in 'The Testament of Love' - these indicated by blanks. Separate woodcut title to 'The Romaunt of the Rose'. Woodcut initials throughout. Signatures in Canterbury Tales indicate that this part of the volume may come from more than one edition, headings and folio numbers are continuous. Probably 17th Century calf; some cracking of joints and a little wear to corners. Generally a very crisp, clean copy. £400-600
