<B>Charlotte Town, PEI- The Bank of Prince Edward Island</B></I> $1 Jan. 1, 1877 Ch. # 600-12-04<BR> This bank was the first established under provincial charter on Prince Edward Island, and flourished until the defalcations of a new cashier were exposed in 1876. The bank became insolvent as a result and closed in 1881. This lovely example has been graded by PMG, who have awarded it a grade of <B>Gem Uncirculated 65 </B></I>and granted it the coveted EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) designation as well. <BR><I>From The Thomas M.
