Charleville French Indian Musket with Tacks
Antique Charleville French Indian Flintlock Musket .69 cal. adorned with over 300 Tacks. Marked "Charleville" on the lock with two brass barrel bands. Buttstock covered in tacks with old hide wrapped. Marked "56" in front of trigger guard. Barrel measures 44 inches, missing ramrod, cracks on underside of forearm, dings on buttstock. Used in the Swamp battle by French Mercenaries with Andrew Jackson winning the battle of New Orleans. Napoleon entered into war with Russia calling the French fighter back resulting in the muskets being left behind and often traded to the Comanche. NSN, Ca. French/Indian War Period
