Nobel Prize winning physicist who contributed to the development of the laser. Impressive partial scientific manuscript, one page, 8.5 x 11, with “C. Townes, Manuscript on non-linear optics” written in blue ballpoint across the top. Manuscript begins in type, “A qualitative clue as to their size is immediately given by recognizing that the higher order terms must be of importance at a level of field strength…” with Townes then completing the remainder of that paragraph and the next four paragraphs by hand. The page features several additional words added to the typed text by Townes, crossed out sections, and various formulas. In fine condition.
