"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
Charles Sumner autograph quote signed. He excerpts the timeless line from his 4 June 1860 speech in the Senate called ''The Barbarism of Slavery.'' Note reads in full: ''The sacred animosity between Freedom & Slavery can end only with the triumph of Freedom / Charles Sumner / Senate Chamber / 29th Dec. [18]60''. Sumner became a national abolitionist leader in Congress four years prior, following another of his passionate anti-slavery speeches, the ''Crime Against Kansas'' speech. 1pp. on card-style stationery measures 5'' x 8''. A bit of a stamp remains above the text and reads ''Three''. Discoloration, with separation to folds at edges and a greater degree of separation to folds of integral blank page. Very good condition.
