Highly skilled and influential diplomat (1754–1838) who served the French government from the reign of Louis XVI through that of Louis-Philippe. LS in French, signed “le pce de Talleyrand,” one page, 7.25 x 9.25, May 10, 1837. Untranslated letter to Baron de Villeneuve, whose request to the director general of bridges and roads he had forwarded. Central vertical and horizontal folds with partial tape-repaired edge separations, various light blocks of toning and show-through from adhesive remnants to reverse, and mild soiling, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned engraved portrait.
