The Martin Limoges Company was begun when Pierre Martin leased the old Nivet porcelain factory in Limoges in 1882. In 1886 his brother Charles Martin became a partner in the company. By 1886 Charles Martin was alone in the business, and he bought the building in 1905. At some point Charles was joined by his son-in-law Jean Duche, who became a partner. The factory closed in the early 1930s.

The mark on this coffee pot dates it back at least as far as the 1930s. The pot stands 8 inches tall. It is decorated with handpainted roses, deep red on one side and bright yellow on the other. It is in excellent undamaged condition, with only very minor wear to the gold. I can provide additional photos on request.
