Charles M. Russell Double Sided Chromolithographs
Featured in this lot is this collection of Charles M. Russell, double-sided chromolithographs, circa 1949. There are three chromolithographs in this collection shown on a single double-sided folding paper. The first is the largest, called "Waiting for A Chinook: The Last of 5000 and shows a staving bull being circled by wolves”. The second is a chromolithograph of an original watercolor called "The Challenge", with the artist’s signature in the bottom left-hand corner, showing two stallions fighting over breeding rights. The last is called "Tight Dally and Loose Latigo" and is a chromolithograph of an original oil by Charles M. Russell; it shows a scene of a wreck where a cowboy has a tight dally on his saddle horn and a loose latigo pulling the saddle off his horse. The condition of this is good, with the page seeming to be out of a catalog or book and slight browning to the pages due to age. The measurements of the double-sided chromolithographs unfolded are 17 3/4" x 12".
