Scarce signed book: Illustrations of Colonel Lindbergh’s Decorations and Some of His Trophies received Within the Year Following His Trans-Atlantic Flight of May 20-21, 1928 [sic, corrected in manuscript to 1927]. First edition, first printing. St. Louis, Missouri: Missouri Historical Society, 1928. Softcover, 11 x 8.25, 46 pages. Signed and inscribed at the bottom of the second page, “Aug 22, 1935, Dear Mrs. Foerster, best regards and many thanks, Charles A. Lindbergh.” In very good condition, with a 1928 gift inscription to title page, mild toning and some scattered foxing to pages, small separation to hinge of front cover, slight wear to spine, and crease and two chipped corners to front cover.

This is an incredibly rare book as it is the proof copy first edition of this fantastic publication. It was received through sources related to the museum. This edition has Charles Lindbergh in the oval circle on the front cover. The formal edition which was released in 1935 on the day that Charles signed it as a picture of the Spirit of St. Louis in the oval section. To have any copy of this trophies and decorations book with Charles Lindbergh on the front cover is incredibly rare. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
