Very rare document signed by the judges' panel of the 1929 Edison Scholarship Awards, including Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford. Other signatures include George Eastman, Lewis Perry (Headmaster of Phillips Exeter Academy), S.W. Stratton (President of MIT), Anne Lindbergh and a Mrs. Sloane, likely Madeleine Edison Sloane, the daughter of Thomas Edison. Lot also includes (1) a photograph of the panel, clearly showing Lindbergh and Eastman, taken at the Awards ceremony on 29 July 1929 where the signatures were obtained, and (2) a letter dated 14 May 1980 to John Edison Sloane, from the National Park Service regarding the provenance of the signatures and photos. Signed document measures 8'' x 5.25'' and sepia-toned photo measures 4.5'' x 3.25''. Light soiling to document, marks from two previous paper clips and small .5'' tear to bottom, not affecting signatures. Both photo and document in very good condition, perfect for framing together.
