Charles Lindbergh personally owned compass from a survival equipment kit purchased by the aviator in 1938. Silver tone pocket compass is engraved ''U.S.'' on one side and includes original box marked, ''Compass Assembly Pocket Type Air Forces Order No. W535 - AC - 27707 Mfr's Assy Dwg 1941 Longines-Wittnauer Watch Co., Inc.'' With a copy of a letter of provenance by noted Charles Lindbergh expert Ev Cassagneres dated 21 November 21 2007. Compass was purchased from a family friend of Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Compass measures 1.75'' in diameter. Near fine.
