ALS, signed “Charles Lee,” one page, 6 x 7.5, October 17, 1788. Letter to Jess Taylor reads, in part: “The court has set aside the verdict & judgement obtained by you against Pope and you must return with your witness, and the case will be retried on Monday.” An endorsement from Day is written underneath the letter, signed “Benjn. Day,” and dated October 19, 1788. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of both signatures, scattered mild toning, and a couple of pencil notations.
