‘Coney Baloney’ is the work of the American artist Charles Fazzino. The composition features bright, partly glittering colors and was made in a 3D silkscreen technique on museum paper. The dense, multilayered view of Coney Island is a typical work by the artist and is characterized by a strongly detailed representation and a spatial image impression. Like all 3D designs of Fazzino, the present work is based on an elaborated manual work. It was created out of a colorized black and white drawing, from which Fazzino made a lithograph and a screen for the silkscreen. Usually, the artist manufactures over 500 silkscreens for the use of different colors and levels. Finally, he cuts out small image snippets and fixes them onto the picture in up to three levels.

The work is matted and mounted in the original white frame. The sheet is signed lower right in pencil ‘Charles Fazzino’, and numbered lower left ‘313/473’. Lower center, there is the handwritten title ‘Coney Baloney’. The sheet is in very good condition with very fresh colors. The frame shows only minor traces of use. The overall dimensions, framed, are 51.5 x 44 cm. The size of the image is approximately 23 x 16 cm.
