The three TLSs, dated November 17, 1906, December 26, 1908, and December 24, 1913, are all addressed to George B. Brigham and contain brief messages of thanks and Christmas and New Years greetings. The ALS, November 24, 1943, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, is address to Brigham’s daughter, Flora Belle Brigham, and reads, in part: “In a conversation with Morgan Brooks last Sunday I learned for the first time of the passing of your father,—my classmate at Brown. While I did not have the privilege of seeing your father in recent years, I have cherished the memory of our association in college days and I wish to send you this word of deep sympathy in the loss you have sustained.” In overall fine condition. Accompanied by the four original mailing envelopes, two of which are addressed in Hughes’s own hand, as well as three pieces of ephemera relating to Hughes’s gubernatorial inauguration on January 1, 1907.
