Comprises: 1.) Red silk ribbon with black ink imprint "Vice-President / Hughes Meeting / Auditorium / Sept. 20, 1916." Bears "Union Label" imprint at bottom. 2.) Off-white silk ribbon with black ink imprint "Hughes and Direct Nominations." Bears "Union Label" imprint at bottom. 3.) Color lithograph satirical postcard. Depicts Hughes as a bearded toddler spanking a Teddy Bear as the G.O.P. elephant, in woman's clothes exclaims "Well...Just see. How cunnin' he spanks his Teddy Bear!" Postmarked on verso with year dated 1908. 4.) Engraved 1 page, 8vo invitation "To meet Mrs. Charles Evans Hughes and the members of the Woman's Hughes Campaign Train / Mrs. Payne Whitney and the members of the Woman's Campaign Committees of the Republican National Committee and the Hughes Alliance..." 5.) Printed cardstock placard "NOT TOO PROUD TO FIGHT! / Recently our soldiers fought the Haitians, shedding their blood and the blood of our troops, took possession, and a U.S. armed force is now in control of Haiti and directing its government. The Democrats were not too proud to fight the littlest fellow." Bears a bold black oval at bottom left with text, in white, "Elect Hughes." 6.) Newsprint rotogravured portrait of Hughes from The Hartford Courant. 7.) An October 12, 1916 page from Leslie's Weekly containing a full page advertisement to raise funds for the Hughes Campaign.
