Two strands of Charles Dickens hair, obtained from his sister-in-law Georgina Hogarth, who famously sided and lived with Dickens after her sister, Catherine, separated from the great author. Georgina would stay with Dickens until his death on 9 June 1870. Lot includes a COA from John Reznikoff of University Archives and a copy of the note from Hogarth: ''I certify this Lock of Hair to be that of my Brother-in-law Charles Dickens / Georgina Hogarth''. Strands measure approximately 1'' and are housed in a 1.75'' x 1.5'' plastic sleeve affixed to an 8.5'' x 11'' display sheet headed ''Charles Dickens' Hair'' and featuring a photocopy of the note, color photocopied portraits of Dickens and Hogarth, and biographical information.
