"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
Charles Dickens autograph letter signed, dated 6 October 1869, less than a year before his death. Letter, on colorful ''Office of All the Year Round, a Weekly Journal Conducted by Charles Dickens'' stationery, is addressed to British author and ''Household Words'' (Dickens' magazine) contributor Percy Fitzgerald. Letter reads in part, ''…My dear Fitzgerald / Make yourself quite easy. This is not the ship distressed for hurry, and you can take your own time. I have a story in 2 parts still to plan…it's not yet made up…Faithfully Yours / Charles Dickens''. Letter, measuring 4'' x 5'', is custom framed with a portrait of the author to an overall size of 10.5'' x 18.5''. Some paper loss at left edge and minor staining, overall in very good condition.
