Bold ink signature, "Charles Darwin, Down, Kent, July 1st 1879, With Mr. Darwin's compliments," on an off-white 5 x 6.5 sheet of Down, Beckenham, Kent, Railway Station stationery. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Darwin's hand to a professor. Also includes an unsigned photograph of the influential evolutionary thinker.
