Charles Brady HRHA (1926-1997) BLUE BALL OF WOOL signed and dated [1973] top right; inscribed label on reverse oil on canvas 39 by 30cm., 15.5 by 12in. Provenance: Dawson Gallery, Dublin Brady made several paintings featuring a humble ball of wool: "Ball of Wool" (oil on paper) was for sale at the 1969 Independent Artists exhibition for £30, whilst a work entitled "Ball of Blue Wool" was shown the same year at the RHA and was for sale at £45 (incidentally, the same price that is inscribed on the reverse of the present work). A retrospective of Brady's work is to show at the RHA Gallagher Gallery from 14th February to 24th March, 2002.€4000-€5000 (IR £3100-£3900 approx.)
