British-born American violinist (1837–1903) and teacher of Henry Hadley. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Allen and his wife by L. Alman of Newport, Rhode Island, signed in black ink by Charles Allen and Eunice Humphrey Allen. In fine condition, with mild toning to edges of image from previous display, slight surface loss near top, and a label affixed to reverse.
