Lindbergh, Jr. kidnaped from his home in Hopewell, N.J., between 8 and 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 1932 On the evening of March 1, 1932, Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr. was abducted from his crib in his home in East Amwell, New Jersey. The 20-month-old baby was missing for over two months before his body was found along a nearby road, on May 12th. The crime and trial case caused a media frenzy, deemed by satirist H.L. Mencken "the biggest story since the Resurrection."
