(MGM, 1945) Extensive collection of (25) individual works, a few being blueprints for set construction, with the rest original hand-drawn charcoal on vellum and illustration board, of set designs, storyboards, and concept art by Harry Johnson for art directors Hans Peters and Cedric Gibbons. As in his similar work for Gaslight a year earlier, Johnson once again creates an atmosphere of foreboding to illustrate the dark psychology of this gothic horror film. Even most of the printed blueprints have hand-drawn additions to heighten the effects. Size ranges from 7 x 9” to 31 x 41”, with some signs of handling to the vellum pieces, but overall Fine to Very Fine.
