Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II  alias Vikramaditya (375-415 CE), Gold Dinar, "Chhatra (Parasol)" type, Broad Flan, Obv:  the king standing facing left, nimbate, wearing Kushan style clothing, a cap with pearl string, with his fist on the hilt of the sword he carries in his left hand and sacrificing over an altar on the left field, an attendant stands behind him and holding the Chhatra (royal parasol), the attendant has right leg bent up, Brahmi legend “Kshitimvijitya (sucharitairdivam jayati Vikramadityah”) around the field, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi facing to the front, nimbate, standing on a wide lotus-shaped pedestal, holding a diadem in her right hand and a long-stemmed lotus in her left hand, a tamgha on the top left field, Brahmi legend "Vikramadityah" on the right field, dotted border around the field, 7.75g, 20.09mm, (Unlisted in Altekar/TGE, S. Kumar # Class-I, Var. A.1), choice quality, about extremely fine, Extremely Rare.

Note:  It is a notable Class II Variety C type as per S. Kumar’s Gupta Catalogue. The Chhatra-type coins were innovations of Chandragupta II. This type was introduced probably with the idea of emphasizing his Imperial status as the sole sovereign ruler (eka-chhatratva) in the country.
