Many appear to enact episodes from daily and ceremonial life. A further difficulty is the uncertainty whether or not most of those which reach North American collections were actually found in the groupings in which they are now exhibited. (A remarkable collection, which has a good chance of being as found, is held in the non-public section of the Amano Museum in Lima.) All of the visible components in this grouping are ancient and the overall condition is good for their age.

Provenance
Bentley Dillard, Scottsdale, Arizona
William Siegal Galleries, Santa Fe: 2004 catalogue, item 36 (illustrated).

Published
Siegal, William. Pre-Columbian Art. Santa Fe: William Siegal Galleries, 2004.
