This is a chalkware Indian figure from carousel at Columbia Gardens in Butte, Montana. The Columbia Gardens amusement park was established in the early 1900's by Butte Copper King William Clark. He operated the park at his own expense until his death in the mid 1920's. The Anaconda Company took it over and operated the park until the 1970's. This unique piece was removed from a carousel and kept in a private collection. The figure shows good overall condition. It does shows some paint loss and damage to the wood as pictured. It measures 16" x 18".
