The Martin Limoges company was founded by Pierre Martin, who started out by leasing the old Nivet porcelain factory in Limoges in 1882. In 1886, his brother Charles Martin became a partner, and the two bought the building in 1905. At some point Charles was joined by his son-in-law Jean Duche, who became a partner in 1923. The factory closed in the early 1930s.

This lovely and unusual tray from Martin Limoges bears a mark that dates it back to 1891. It is decorated with soft pink and white roses, and a very intricate pattern of gold webbing. It measures 13 inches long, and is in excellent undamaged condition. A great display piece! I can provide additional photos on request.
