Army officer and composer (1835–1918) and a member of the group of Russian composers known as ‘The Five.’ Uncommon AMQS on a beige 6.75 x 9 sheet, signed and inscribed in Cyrillic to the Russian-born violinist Nathalie Boshko in black ink, “C. Cui,” adding the year, “1914.” Cui has boldly penned three bars from an unidentified composition, with an affixed postcard engraving of the composer above. In fine condition, with border toning from prior display.
