Ifugao Tribe, Northern Philippines. SEE: Entries 224 and 227 in "The People and Art of the Philippines" published in the 1990s by the UCLA Museum of Cultural History. The all-over adorned design stitchery is uniquely characteristic of some parts of this tribal group. 1930-1950 or so, and young women made these for use at Festival times, and to show off their skills to their future mother-in-law. Lightly faded areas do not seriously detract. Rarer than shirts from the southern Philippines.
