Century constructed gold rush style knife in overall good condition marked “Woodhead, Howard St., Sheffield” one side of the Ricasso and “V.R. Warranted, Sheffield” on the other side of Ricasso, with etched blade showing flying eagle holding bag of gold in beak marked “10,000” over a banner “I Can Dig Gold From Quartz” and “California Bowie Knife”; etching also includes the adage “A Californian ask for nothing but what is RIGHT and submit to nothing that is WRONG”; approx. 12-3/4” overall with a 7” blade, simple silver guard, marine ivory grip and decorative hallmarked overlay pommel with “Rd 75139 stamping and matching overlay at guard; accompanied by a well-made sheath with metal tip and throat showing some scuffing and separation at the top edge by the tip.
