1906, District of Columbia. Stock certificate for 18 shares. Black. Vignette at center fo the Capitol Building. Issued to and signed on verso by Frank Vanderlip (1864 - 1937), bank and government official. During World War I he served as Chairman of the War Savings Committee. Working closely with James Stillman at National City Bank, Vanderlip introduced a series of important banking innoviations during the period and succeeded Stillman to the Bank's presidency upon his retirement. Very fine condition. Lightly pen cancelled, Vanderlip's signature is unaffected.
