Cel Original Batman Animation Robin on Duty Background
About a year after Batman's debut, Batman creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger introduced Robin the Boy Wonder in Detective Comics #38 (1940). The name "Robin the Boy Wonder" and the medieval look of the original costume were inspired by The Adventures of * Robin Hood. Robin is a fictional character, a superhero in the DC Comics universe. Robin has long been a fixture in the Batman comic books as Batman's partner. The team of Batman and Robin is commonly referred to as the Dynamic Duo or the Caped Crusaders. * Conceived as a vehicle to attract young readership, Robin garnered overwhelmingly positive critical reception, doubling the sales of the Batman related comic books. * * * * * Even though the Batman signal is flashing in the sky, Robin is not far behind. So don't be surprised if he comes out of no where to get in on the action; he isn't called the "Boy Wonder" for no reason. * * * Original Printed Background and Animated Cel Overall Size of Background: 11" x 13" Overall Size of the Cel: 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" Very good condition * This is an original hand-painted cel. Each one-of-a-kind cel represents a slight change in position of the characters. When individually photographed and projected in rapid succession, the images appear to move. * * To create production cels, the original animator's drawing is transferred onto an acetate cel (by hand-inking and/or photo copying). The cel is then hand-painted on the reverse side. The background accompanying this set-up is a reproduction background. * * * The printed background and cel are ready to be matted and framed. The notations are located at the bottom of the cel
