Official White House photographer Cecil W. Stoughton's personal photo album containing 56 original vintage color 8 x 10 photographs of President John F. Kennedy's 1963 trip to Ireland and Italy. The red calf leather photo album is stamped with decorative tooling on the front and back, with the spine stamped with Stoughton's initials, "CWS," and a title, "JFK in Ireland and Italy, 1963." Accompanied by his sisters Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Jean Kennedy Smith, JFK referred to his trip to Ireland as 'the best four days of his life.' The reverse of almost every photograph is hand-inscribed as part of Stoughton's unique numbering and filing system.

Among the noteworthy subjects depicted in the album are: JFK at Dublin and Shannon airports; President Kennedy at Saint Patrick's Hall in Dublin Castle with the Lord Mayor of Dublin; numerous photos of President Kennedy's motorcade, with Kennedy in an open top convertible waving to the crowds in the street while passing through Naples, Italy; President Kennedy visiting the tomb of the unknown soldier in Rome; twelve photos of President Kennedy at his ancestral homestead in Duganstown, Ireland, where he enjoyed tea and cake; President Kennedy addressing a crowd at Eyre Square, Ireland; President Kennedy arriving at NATO headquarters in Naples; President Kennedy at City Hall in Rome; President Kennedy with the Archbishop; and President Kennedy with Prime Minister Harold Macmillan in England. In overall fine condition, with the first sleeve in the album discolored, but the photo unaffected.
