Official White House photographer Cecil W. Stoughton's personal photo album containing 21 original vintage 8 x 10 photos of President Kennedy and family enjoy watching a performance of the Black Watch, then known as the Royal Highland Regiment of Scotland, from the South Portico of the White House on November 13, 1963, just nine days before JFK's assassination in Dallas. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy would recall nine of the regimental bagpipers to Washington, D.C. to participate in JFK's funeral procession less than two weeks later. The red calf leather photo album is stamped with decorative tooling on the front and back, with the spine stamped with Stoughton's initials, "CWS," and a title, "The Black Watch, Nov. 1963." Almost all are hand-inscribed on the reverse as part of Stoughton's unique numbering and filing system.

Subjects include: members of the Black Watch performing the Sword Dance; JFK Jr. admires the jeweled dagger that Major Wingate Gray presented to JFK after the latter's address; President Kennedy seated with the presidential family and Major Wingate Gray; a close-up of Major Wingate Gray and American brass saluting; President Kennedy delivering his address from the South Lawn of the White House, surrounded by Major Wingate Gray, Jackie, and American and Scottish officers; President Kennedy receiving the jeweled officer's dirk; JFK Jr. sitting with Major Wingate Gray; and Jacqueline Kennedy's mother Janet Auchincloss, and stepfather Hugh D. Auchincloss, watching the event. In fine condition, with the first sleeve in the album discolored, but the photo unaffected.
