TLS, two pages, 8.5 x 11, Paramount Pictures Inc letterhead, December 29, 1936. Letter to William Chapman at the International press Bureau. In part: “Many thanks for your very courteous letter…I am deeply appreciative of the contents…I find your description of the shrimp fisherman excellent and the suggestion of the bandana and the cutlass is one I might avail myself of, except with that much of a start back to piracy, I have no doubt they would continue the rest of the way…It is my intention to got to New Orleans in the not too distant future to look over the stage upon which the original drama was enacted, and pick up such local color as I may through the old bayous and the country around Grand Isle.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, uniform light toning, and a couple pencil notations to first page.
