<B>CAVANSITE GROUP ON MATRIX</B></I><BR> <I>Wagholi Quarry, Wagholi, Pune District, Maharashtra, India</B></I><BR>One linear 'snake' of spherically radiating cavansite crystals winds its way across a druzy, white field of stilbite blades. The dark matrix underlying the stilbite is the typical basalt lava from the district. Cavansite is an extremely rare silicate of calcium and vanadium, hence the name; <B>Ca</B></I>lcium <B>Van</B></I>adium <B>Si</B></I>lica<B>te</B></I>: cavansite. The deep teal blue spherules of cavansite range in size up to ¾ of an inch, while the piece has an overall dimensions of 6 x 4 x 2 inches.
