This is a nice example of a Colt Single Action Army revolver originally manufactured in 1910 and subsequently custom engraved and embellished. The revolver is nearly completely covered with cattle brand engraving in the style of Cole Agee or his student, Weldon Bledsoe. The brands are well executed in the typical western style with the recognizable "2 Lazy 2 P", "XIT", "101", "HIT" and many other famous Texas brands with intermixed floral scroll designs and a punch dot background. The only surfaces not covered are the front grip strap, the inside area of the trigger guard and the cylinder flutes. The screw heads and ends have a punch dot design. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line Colt address, the left side "45 COLT" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Standard blade and frame notch sights, all nickel finish and fitted with two-piece ivory grips with a spread winged eagle on the right panel and silver Colt medallions.
