This lot features Caterpillar advertising plates and printing from c. 1926-1930. Wording on the front card identifies San Leandro, CA as the location of the executive offices. In 1926 two competing tractor companies merged to form Caterpillar Tractor Co. and made Leandro, CA the headquarters. In 1930 headquarters were moved to Peoria, IL. The advertising, printed by American Colortype, features nine 8 5/8" x 3 5/8" cards with plates and printing. Each plate was made using what American Colortype called "Sculptural Printing" (we know know it as 3D). A tenth card has a pocket for the "Macyscope" and instructions on how to use it to view the cards. All the cards fit in an envelope marked, ""Caterpillar" Pictures / a sculptural-printed souvenir". The cards are in good condition. Each card measures 8 5/8" x 3 5/8".
