Cast brass or bronze headed belt-axe, trade type. Head measures 6-1/2” from edge to rear. The front edge measures 2-5/8” across. The back edge shows an arrow design. The head is mounted on a period shaft which is of oak or light colored hardwood, possibly hickory. Shows aging and carry and is genuine to the period of the head. The shaft measures 12” and shows leather tie and decoration which is died green. There is an old paper collection or museum which is #63. The head shows a dark patina. A very interesting belt axe we would date to the early 19th century. From the Bernard Braverman Estate. Est: $750 - $1,500

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment.
