Cased pair of unmarked European percussion single shot pistols, approx. .50 cal., 8” octagon barrels, checkered and beautifully raised carved wood stocks in overall very good condition. Both guns show an even patina on the barrels and lockplates/assemblies; one gun shows a quarter inch dovetail on the underside of the barrel; both guns have set triggers, good actions and engraved and silver trigger guards and butt caps. The wood on both weapons is overall very good with scatterednicks and mars and an old repaired break to the wrist of one of the pieces. On the top of the back straps just behind the upper barrel tangs are matching raised carvings of a floral design that is extremely well-accomplished. The case containsa wood cleaning rod and no other accessories; it has been re-lined; the exterior is in good to very good condition with some losses to the trim on the edges of the lid. A really nice set that would benefit from some proper restoration to thecasing. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
