Cased pair of dueling pistols signed “McDermott” converted from flintlock to percussion. Originally circa 1820-1830 converted to percussion after 1830. The box and pistols are inscribed with the crest of George Bury and Irish lord. The pair are 16 ¼” overall with 11” BBL’s of 60 plus caliber smoothbore. The pistols are very good plus condition with English stripped brown mostly remaining on the BBL’s, bright polished locks, and mounts. The case is also very good with label in lid. The label shows Abbey St. address and legend “Double guns and dueling pistols executed on the newest construction.” The interior is original and also good to very good. Full complement of accessories. Beautiful crest engraved in the lid. Sets like these cost tens of thousands in London. Est.: $5,000-$10,000
