Cased double action percussion revolver with Adams patent markings and A.F. proof probably indicating manufacture by August Francotte of Liege. The top strap is hand engraved and reads “Manufactured by A.F., Licensed by Deane Adams and Deane, London, Made for Le Page, Moutier of Paris”. The pistol measures 12 ½” overall with a 6 1/8” octagon barrel of approximately .44 caliber. The metal surfaces show some light cleaning and about 20% to 40% original blue with some minorerosion and pinprick pitting where the finish has been lost. The grips are nicely checkered and in good condition. The frame is stamped Adams patent on the left side and hand engraved on the right side with a number. The revolver is double actiononly with no hammer spur. The pistol is contained within an original to the period case and it has been relined with the original paper label retained in the lid. The condition of the interior is very good and was redone a long time ago as it shows age. The case contains a cleaning rod and associated tool which we could not identify along with a key, cap tin and a driving rod. The exterior of the case is light-colored oak missing its key plate and the top plate is replaced. The
