Cased Starr Single Action percussion revolver, .44 cal., 8” round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, smooth wood grips, #39212. This gun is in overall very good condition showing approx. 70% original blue finish with some areas of erosion and pin prick pitting on the right side of the barrel, front of frame and loading lever. The gun also shows considerable case colors on the loading lever and the hammer; the bore is fine, the action crisp, the markings sharp and the grips fine with both inspector’s cartouches fully visible. The case is in overall very good condition showing maroon lining with the lid lining having faded to a brown-maroon, likely from exposure to the sun. The compartments are intact and the set contains an eagle brass powder flask, an Eley Bros. marked cap tin, a key to the case, a combination nipple wrench and screwdriver, a wood handled brass and iron bullet mold , several loose lead bullets and an American Powder Co.’s skin pack of 6 cartridges. The exterior of the box shows tight hinges, excellent fit and scattered minor nicks, mars and scratches from storage. Uncommon to find these Starr Single Actions cased and this is a particularly nice one. From the Richard Wolfe Collection. Est.: $5,000-$10,000.
