Cased Special Order Pigeon Grade C.J. Bonehill Marked Belmont Interchangeable Hammerless Both Side signifying the model of this being Pigeon Grade, Factory Scroll Engraved Frame Side x Side .12 Ga Shotgun Two Barrel Set w/ Matching Numbered 28" bbls [ with one set being choked in full and full, the second set being choke modified and modified, as ordered by Mr. Newson in 1891, and fitted with one interchangeable fore end as per Mr. Newson's instructions and he received the gun in 1892 , Higher Grade Walnut with pistol grip, checkering to raised panels behind the action, as well as to the length of the grip, a rubber recoil pad has been added to the stock later. An engraved initial plate is inlaid into the stock bearing Mr. Newson's inttials, the interior of the case has been properly and professionally restored in the correct color and fabric to the original issue, and retains the original factory label. The gun is in original condition, showing original finish, with the action locking tightly and correctly with both sets of barrels. The barrels show original aged finish, nice and even grey, Damascus pattern, case c/w original brass plate, reading A.C. Newson, Calgary [ Owner of Fish Creek Ranch, Calgary, Alberta ] , brass cleaning rod and cleaning fixturers of a later date, His ranch later operated as The Grasslands" South of Calgary, in 1894 he went into partnership with George Lane ( one of the original four that started the Calgary Stampede) Comes with documentation from consignor, and photo of the original building that housed Mr. Newson's Pharmacy, taken after his passing in 1910 ( from the Glenbow Museum Archives ) An amazing piece of Alberta History ] Ser # 867
