Cased Silver Engraved British Percussion Pepperbox

The pistol has a floral scroll engraved German silver frame and a floral scroll engraved iron trigger guard and bar hammer. There are no maker markings on the pistol but British proofs are stamped on every barrel cluster rib at the breech. The two piece grips are checkered. The barrel cluster and hammer were casehardened and trigger guard appears to have been blue. The leather bound case, which is lined in velvet, has seven compartments with three compartments having velvet embossed lids featuring pearl knobs. The inside of the padded lid has a paper label (likely reads, "HAMILTON/MASTER ENGRAVER/No. 16 [illegible]/RED LION SQUARE"). The following accessories are included: wad cutter, iron bullet mold, brass barrel swab, tapper, lead balls and two cap tins.

Very good. The barrels, hammer and trigger guard retain traces of their respective finishes with a mottled gray patina on the balance. Most of the German silver remains with a crisp engraving. The grips are good with a repaired left panel and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. The grip screw no long secures the grips to the frame. Mechanically needs work as action does not always cycle properly. The case is very good showing minor handling/storage marks and high spot wear on the lining.
