Cased Savage Model 1899 Lever Action Takedown Rifle with an Extra 410 Gauge Smoothbore Barrel

Manufactured in 1922, this lever action is equipped with two 24 inch barrels; the first is a rifle barrel in 300 Savage, with a blade front sight, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight, and a Schnabel tip forearm, the second is a 410 gauge shotgun barrel with a brass single bead sight, full choke and a 2 1/2 inch chamber. Receiver markings are standard, with a case colored lever, sliding safety and a rotating cartridge counter. Checkered pistol grip stock, with a ribbed steel buttplate and 12 5/8 inch length of pull. With a black leather takedown case with maroon inner lining, a paper Savage logo inside the lid and space for both barrels.

Very fine, with 80% of the faded original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered spotting and handling marks. The stock is very good as refinished, with a few mended cracks at the wrist, scattered dents and varnish loss. Mechanically excellent.
